Smile Cookie Campaign comes through

Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign had a successful month to help support sick children and babies

ORILLIA - Tim Hortons restaurants in Orillia have presented Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) Foundation with a cheque for over $31,800 to benefit sick children and babies. The money was raised during their annual week-long Smile Cookie Campaign in September.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the support of amazing community partners like Tim Hortons and all the generous customers,” said Mark Riczu, executive director, OSMH Foundation. “The funds have a great impact on improving our Paediatric/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Paed/NICU) space for some of our most vulnerable patients.”

The Paed/NICU at OSMH recently underwent a $2.7 million renovation, which saw the space more than double in size. Some last pieces of equipment, including sleeper chairs, are needed to complete the picture.

“We really owe the success of this campaign to our loyal guests who visit the store year after year,” the owners of Tim Hortons restaurants in Orillia, Ron Harris and Val Hale, said in a joint statement. “What better way to give back than to an organization that touches everyone in our community.”

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign supports more than 460 local charities and hospitals, including OSMH.
