Skateboarders become targets in alleged bottle-throwing incident

On Saturday, June 18, 2016 just after 8 p.m. two men were arrested after police received reports of a car driving erratically and throwing beer bottles from within the vehicle at a group of youths who had been skateboarding behind the Georgian Mall.

The incident led to the driver; a 20-year-old Barrie male being arrested and charged with impaired driving and over 80, and the passenger a 20-year-old Barrie male charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) .

The driver of the vehicle was served a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

The two men will appear in a Barrie court in July.
