Six arrested in Angus drug bust

TOWNSHIP OF ESSA - On Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at approximately 7:15 p.m., following a lengthy investigation by Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) warrant at a residential address in Angus, Township of Essa.

Nottawasaga Detachment members were assisted by officers from the Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, as well as Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).

A quantity of drugs were seized which included, marihuana, hashish, cocaine and methamphetamine. Total street value, approximately $1,000. Also seized were three prohibited weapons (switch blade knives).

Arrested were:

  1. Amari Buchanan, age 30, of Mississauga. He has been charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance
     
  2. Larry Davis, age 53, of Angus, charged Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
     
  3. Richelle Wadden, age 35, of Angus, charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Possession of a Controlled Substance
     
  4. Lisa Lashbrook, age 33, of Angus, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
     
  5. Nicholas Hendry, age 25, of Mississauga, arrested on multiple outstanding warrants.
     
  6. Cassandra Dinshaw, age 24, of Mississauga, arrested on multiple outstanding warrants.

OPP also have an outstanding arrest warrant for Glenn Davis, age 32, of Angus.

At the time of police entry, two male persons attempted escape by jumping from windows on the second level of the house, however, they were immediately apprehended by containment officers.

All arrested persons were taken to the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment where they were formally charged and will appear at future Court dates.
