SIU invokes mandate after arrest of male

On Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a male slumped over the wheel of his motor vehicle in the area of Rosemont, just west of the Town of Alliston.

Officers arrived on scene and as a result of their investigation, a 54-year-old male was arrested. 

Shortly after the arrest, the male went into medical distress and was transported to a nearby hospital. 

The province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been notified and has invoked its mandate.

As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information.
