This December, the County Museum presents a Simcoe County Christmas. Share the holidays with friends and family at the Simcoe County Museum, and join us between Dec. 3 and 17 to take part in various Christmas-themed activities that are fun for everyone.

A Simcoe County Christmas

A Simcoe County Christmas is an in-person guided tour celebrating some of the different ways Christmas has been celebrated throughout Simcoe County’s history. Travelling through the decorated museum galleries, heritage buildings and grounds by lamplight, costumed interpreters will share stories from Christmases past.

Victorian customs, early settler treats, Sinterklaas and our own recent Christmas traditions are featured in this program. Participants will be offered light refreshments outdoors by the fire, as well as a Christmas gift of treats, crafts and activities to enjoy at home.

Christmas Workshops
Christmas is officially here, which means it's time to break out the eggnog and a few beloved holiday decorations. Back in the 1970s, tabletop ceramic Christmas trees became all the rage. These tiny tabletop decorations were likely handmade in a nearby ceramics class. Now it’s your turn to create some custom retro Christmas decorations of your own. Light up your tabletop this season with your very own ceramic Christmas tree, Victorian Glass ornaments and Christmas crackers in our Christmas Workshop. Now you can impress your family and friends with your very own unique handcrafted Christmas gifts.
