NEWS RELEASE
SIMCOE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
*************************
All school council members from Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools are invited to attend Connections on Oct. 22 at the Education Centre in Midhurst.

The event is hosted by the SCDSB’s Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) and is designed to help school council members become more effective in their roles.

Participants will:

  • learn tips and important information to help them in their roles
  • contribute to group discussions on fundraising, communication and more
  • browse booths from approved vendors
  • network with other school councils and PIC representatives

This year we will welcome SCDSB guest speakers Alison Bradshaw (principal, Indigenous Education), Cathern Lethbridge (principal, Well-being), Tracy McPhail (principal, Program) and Irfan Toor (principal, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion).

School council members should register online by Oct. 18 at noon for a chance to win a $500 parent engagement grant for their school. After this time, interested attendees are welcome to register on-site on Oct. 22.

The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. The Education Centre is located at 1170 Highway 26 in Midhurst.

The PIC is a county-wide advisory committee made up of parents and community representatives from across Simcoe County. The committee works with SCDSB staff and trustees to support student success through parent engagement. Click here for more information on the committee.
