School closures announced ahead of anticipated 'winter bomb'

School boards in Grey and Simcoe County are announcing closures tomorrow in anticipation of the storm

School boards across Simcoe and Grey County are announcing closures ahead of the storm anticipated to hit much of Canada and the US tomorrow. 

The following school boards announced their schools will be closed to staff and students on Dec. 23: 

  • Simcoe County District School Board 
  • Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.
  • Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board
  • Conseil Scolaire Viamonde
  • MonAvenir Catholic School Board
  • Bluewater District School Board

Environment Canada has issued warnings for most of Ontario about extreme weather conditions such as blizzard conditions and flash freezes expected on Friday and Saturday making travel dangerous and possibly causing road closures and power outages.
