ROYAL VICTORIA REGIONAL HEALTH CENTRE

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) recently honoured employees and professional staff for their years of service, celebrating their dedication and commitment to the health centre and its patients.
These service awards are given for every five years of employment and this year, 414 staff and 72 professional staff (physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners and midwives) were recognized for five to 45 years of service. What is even more astounding is cumulatively, the years of service represented at the ceremony totals more than 5,200 years.
At the ceremony, held Feb. 20, RVH honoured Janice Neale, Interprofessional Practice, for her outstanding 45-year milestone while David Dick, Laboratory; Janet Johnson, Operating Room; Judy MacDonald, Imaging Services; and Cindy Perry, Occupational Health and Safety; were celebrated for 40 years of service.
In addition, three staff were honoured for 35 years of service, 27 employees and professional staff received an award for 30 years of service and 13 people were inducted into the RVH Quarter Century Club for RVH employees with 25 or more years of service.
“Whether we honour staff for five years or 45 years, what we are truly celebrating and find so impressive is the impact our staff and physicians have on the patient experience every day,” says Janice Skot, president and CEO, RVH. “By living our MY CARE philosophy, they ensure we are able to put our patients and families first every day with every encounter.”
Michael O’Keefe, chair of the RVH Board of Directors, was in attendance and congratulated each of the recipients, “I applaud each of you for your commitment to ensuring our patients and their families are at the centre of everything we do. As an organization, we are grateful to have such dedicated members of TEAM RVH, providing the safe, high-quality, patient-centred care that residents of our region deserve – and have come to expect from RVH.”
