Pro North Hockey Training is a new hockey training facility that recently opened in Barrie on April 1 located at 130 Saunders Rd., Unit 15.
Co-owners Sherri Sears-Ignoto and Spencer Franklin opened this facility to provide hockey players in Barrie with quality skill development north of the GTA.
Ignoto says: “Children’s mental health is extremely important and for many hockey is an excellent outlet for their physical and mental health. Pro North is a place for these kids to come and gain quality training in the sport they are so passionate about.”
Franklin is well known in Barrie for his skill development coaching and has built a clientele purely on a referral basis, while Ignoto is heavily involved in the Barrie community through her child-care business, and her Foundation for Mental Health and Addiction for all ages.
“Pro North's goal is to provide a place for local hockey players to continue development through minor hockey and junior hockey without having to travel outside the centre. The training offered will be geared towards challenging all ages and skill levels appropriately, and will benefit all individually. The small group sizes allow for more one-on-one instruction, attention to detail, and consistent correction,” says Franklin.
Pro North Hockey Training will be offering a variety of training programs for all ages and skill levels. Some of these programs include learn to skate, goalie training, agility, and shooting training as well as summer camps and hockey clinics which are all now open for registration.
