Police find drugs on Dunning Drive

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH - On Thursday, July 14, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), assisted by the Drug Enforcement Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Central Region Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Dunning Drive, in the Town of New Tecumseth ( Alliston).

As a result of the search, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, codeine, MDMA and psilocybin. Also seized was paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Arrested and charged is Tanner Stewart, age 20, of Dunning Drive, Town of New Tecumseth.  He is currently being held for bail, and facing the following charges.

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking  (Cocaine), CDSA
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking ( Marijuana) CDSA
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking ( Codeine) CDSA
  • Possession of MDMA, CDSA
  • Possession of psilocybin, CDSA
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Criminal Code of Canada.

Drug Traffickers are not welcome in our communities, near our parks or our children. The Nottawasaga Detachment OPP, along with community input and support, will continue to strictly enforce the laws.

Together, we will target those criminals who wish to seek out our youth and others for the sale and distribution of these substances.
