Online lunch-and-learn to discuss challenges facing family businesses

Series of four lunch-hour sessions will look at change, family relationships, succession and more

Starting a new business can be both exciting and stressful.

Add family to the mix and that can create a whole new layer of challenges.

But it’s not impossible and a new series of events is focusing on how you can do it successfully.

Starting Thursday, April 15 and running weekly until June, Aileen Miziolek of the Family Business Consulting Group will host a new online Lunch & Learn Series focused on family businesses.

“Businesses around the world have been challenged on many fronts this past year. Then add the (sometimes) complicated family layer,” she stated.

Pre-pandemic, Miziolek and her team gathered at the Barrie Country Club with a number of local family businesses to discuss some of the unique issues and challenges that can face family businesses. This year, they are bringing that forum right to the business through their Business Families and Family Business Lunch & Learn Series.

“It’s a series of four lunch-hour sessions to discuss change, family relationships, succession, and more, along with some real-life stories… the good, the bad and the ugly.”

The first session is Thursday, April 15 beginning at noon. Anyone interested in registering can do so online at EventBrite.
