Fourth man wanted in connection to Edgehill Drive shooting on June 3 considered armed and dangerous

The June 3 shooting on Edgehill Drive has led to three men being arrested and charged, but Barrie police are still searching for a fourth suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.

Jesse Breese, 21, of Barrie, is wanted for attempted murder in the brazen Sunday afternoon shooting that left a 42-year-old Aurora man with non-life-threatening injuries.

Barrie police Const. Sarah Bamford said she couldn't comment on whether or not Breese was known to authorities, but did say his alleged involvement June 3 shooting was enough to deem him armed and dangerous.

"I'm not able to speak to whether he has a past with police, but I can say that, based on the shooting on June 3, that is why we are labelling Jesse Breese as armed and dangerous," she said.

Three other suspects are in custody and awaiting their first court appearance via video in early August.

Two men, aged 23, have been charged with multiple offences, ranging from attempted murder and assault with a weapon to possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm, pointing a firearm, and careless use of a firearm and common nuisance-endangering life.

They appeared in bail court and were remanded into custody.

The third male in custody is the man who was shot on June 3. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and pointing a firearm. He appeared in bail court and was remanded into custody.

None of the allegations against any of the suspects have been proven in court.
