INNISFIL – Innisfil Mayor Gord Wauchope and Deputy Mayor Lynn Dollin joined community partners to break ground and unveil the name of Innisfil’s upcoming health and wellness facility: the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre.

The building’s name honours lead donors Diego and Sandra Rizzardo, of SanDiego Homes Inc. who have graciously donated two million dollars towards the development of this much-needed community resource.

“We truly appreciative Diego and Sandra Rizzardo for their extraordinary generosity and support of this initiative for years to come,” said Innisfil Mayor Gord Wauchope. “About a year from now, residents can look forward to having a new state-of-the art health and wellness centre close to home, to meet their needs.”

The new Health and Wellness building will be a two-storey, 44,500-square foot facility located at the corner of Yonge and Innisfil Beach Road, on an area commonly referred to as the Town Campus.

“We are honoured and proud to be a part of bringing these new health and wellness services to the Town of Innisfil,” said Diego Rizzardo. “In particular, we are delighted to be a part of something that will make Innisfil a thriving, healthy community.”

The Rizzardo Health Centre plans to offer a variety of services, including:

  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Laboratory services
  • Family doctors
  • Walk-in clinic
  • Pharmacy
  • Dentistry
  • Naturopath and alternative services
  • Physiotherapy
  • Telemedicine
  • Mental health and addiction counselling
  • Specialty medical services

“This new health and wellness centre will be a one-stop shop for residents looking for quality, timely care,” said Innisfil Health Partners Inc. president George Mankarios. “We also see this as an important catalyst to attract other health care professionals who will want to come and work alongside us here in Innisfil.”

Construction is scheduled to begin this spring, with a target completion date of early 2019.
