Economic development partners from across Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka are hosting the 2018 Simcoe Muskoka Skilled Trades Expo on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Elmvale Community Arena.

“With hundreds of skilled trades careers to choose from, there are opportunities available to suit almost any interest,” said Warden Gerry Marshall. “The 2017 Expo introduced more than 2,500 Grade 7, 8 and 12 students from around Simcoe County to more than 40 skilled trades and we hope to see these numbers grow this year.”

This year’s Expo will feature two sessions: a student/school session from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a session geared for the general public from 5 to 7 p.m.

The early session will provide students with the opportunity to participate in hands-on demonstrations and interactive displays relating to dozens of skilled trades available in Simcoe County and Muskoka; while the evening session is open to the public and will provide residents of all ages with an opportunity to learn more about area businesses and career opportunities in the skilled trades.

New this year, the evening event will feature a live Job Fair, which will provide participating businesses an opportunity to meet and interview skilled tradespeople during the event.

Admission is free of charge, however, pre-registration is appreciated by visiting here.
