Mapleview Drive East at the Metrolinx (Go-Transit) railway crossing, just east of St. Paul’s Crescent will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from Friday, April 22 at 6 p.m. to Monday, April 25 at 6 p.m.
Metrolinx has requested the closure for track work, and the City will help facilitate by removing and replacing the asphalt on either side of the tracks.
Access to local residents on each side of the crossing will be maintained during construction. A detour and road signs will be in place to direct traffic.
Barrie Transit Special Shuttle
As a result of the closure, Barrie Transit will run a shuttle bus which will service stops along Prince William Way, Mapleview and Big Bay Point Road.
Riders can transfer on to Route 4 from Big Bay Point Road or the Barrie South Go Station. Riders will not experience any delay in service as a result of this closure.
