A man has died after suffering injuries while skiing at Blue Mountain near Collingwood on Saturday.
Collingwood-Blue Mountains OPP confirmed officers were called to Blue Mountain around noon yesterday for an incident "involving a male who had suffered injuries while skiing."
OPP Const. Martin Hachey said the man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said they are not releasing any more details at this time.
Jackie Paduano, a communications co-ordinator at Blue Mountain, confirmed police were investigating an incident that occurred on Saturday and resulted in a death. She directed any further questions to police.
"Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of this individual at this difficult time," said Paduano.
This is the second death at the resort this year. On Jan. 4, a 24-year-old man attempted to climb the outside wall of a building in Blue Mountain Village. He lost his footing, fell to the ground and died of his injuries.
