Male faces numerous charges after fleeing accident scene

Charges include impaired driving and driving while disqualified

Fail to remain collision

On Sunday, July 31 2016, at 7:20 p.m. South Simcoe Police received a call for assistance for a fail to remain collision.

The caller was driving behind the suspect when he observed the collision.

An Innisfil mother was strapping her baby in the rear drivers side of her vehicle on the shoulder of Innisfil Beach Road when the rear door of her vehicle was struck narrowly avoiding injury.

Officers pulled the suspect vehicle over a short distance away and arrested a 36-year-old Maple, Ontario man.

The investigation resulted in the following charges being laid.

  • Fail to remain
  • Impaired driving
  • Drive over 80 mgs
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Drive while disqualified
  • Novice drive with blood alcohol above zero
  • Class G1 licence holder unaccompanied by licenced driver

The accused was release on a promise to appear.
