The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is honoured to once again receive the support of the Zehrs’ Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign to assist children in Barrie, Bradford, and Alliston.

For over 10 years, Zehrs Markets and their parent company, Loblaw Companies Ltd., have been working with the YMCA to create opportunities for children to connect with each other and gain healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

This campaign invites members of the community to support healthy, active living opportunities for children by donating to the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. Since its inception, hundreds of children and youth have benefited from the generosity of Simcoe County residents, and the YMCA is truly grateful for their support.

From July 13 to 31, 2023, Zehrs Markets stores in Ontario invite shoppers to Give a Little, Help a Lot by adding $2 to their grocery bill in support of a local charity. The funds collected from the Zehrs locations in Alliston, Bradford, and Barrie will provide financial assistance to children and youth in these communities to participate in health-focused YMCA programs, including day camp and child care, that will help ensure they remain connected, active, and healthy.

You can support the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka through the Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign at these local Zehrs Markets:

  • Zehrs Alliston, 30 King St. S., Allison
  • Zehrs Bradford, 500 Holland St. W., Bradford
  • Zehrs Essa, 11 Bryne Dr., Barrie
  • Zehrs Big Bay Point, 620 Yonge St., Barrie
  • Zehrs Duckworth, 607 Cundles Rd. E., Barrie

“The Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign gives children the opportunity, no matter their financial circumstances, to access YMCA programs and be part of a supportive community,” said Jill Tettmann, CEO of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. “The YMCA plays a significant role in supporting parents’ and families’ access to high-quality programs that strengthen the development of children, and assist working parents. Thousands of children across our region are making the most of their summer in YMCA camps, child care, and health, fitness, and aquatics centres. It has been a delight to see these children making memories and making friends while keeping active and connected.”

Tettmann also thanked the community for their continued support of the YMCA: “We appreciate the community members of Alliston, Bradford, and Barrie who are ensuring these meaningful experiences for children and youth are accessible to all by donating in support of Y programs.”
