The post office in Lefroy has adjusted its hours due to current staffing issues.

"This is a temporary solution as we are dealing with staffing issues, which we are in the process improving. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience, and hope to resume regular hours as quickly as possible," said Phil Legault, a spokesperson at Canada Post.

The new modified office hours are now Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., (opening one hour later and closing one hour earlier than before), and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon.

The new hours are in effect to allow employees more time to prepare mail for the day and perform other tasks.

"We understand the importance of the items our customers are waiting for and appreciate any patience they have shown us this year. We are doing our best to serve the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, but please understand we are not operating under normal circumstances," said Legault.

Customers are reminded to wear a mask and keep their distance when inside the office. Residents must provide government ID when picking up parcels and mail from the postal clerk at the counter.
