Express Aid Pharmacy announces the continuation of their education and awareness campaign aiming to encourage a dialogue and support parents and youth to seek out information related to sexual health and wellness.

The stores hold free monthly information sessions led by community leaders on topics such as consent, abuse, online safety, cyberbullying, gender and sexuality, safer sex practices, and STI prevention.

Following their previous presentation by the Barrie Police on online safety, the upcoming second session will be led by Athena’s Sexual Assault Counselling and Advocacy Center. It will be covering the topics of consent, abuse, and healthy relationships.

WHAT: #JustAsk Sexual Health and Wellness Campaign, Session 2 (Consent)
WHEN: Oct. 25, 7:15 p.m.
WHERE: 477 Grove Street

Barrie Local residents are also encouraged to ask questions on social media using #JustAsk and tag the pharmacy.

“With the changes in the Ontario sexual health curriculum reverting back 20 years – we felt it was important to help ensure crucial gaps in education were still accessible,” says Andrew Schonbe, Pharmacist-Owner of Express Aid Pharmacy.

“With the rise of the #MeToo movement and daily concerns regarding abuse and safety, access to education is paramount. As a community leader in health and wellness and being highly accessible for families it was important to act to help encourage the dialogue on consent and` protect youth.”

Parents and youth can visit the pharmacies, or go to their website, Facebook, or Instagram to ask any questions and access valuable brochures and resources.
