It was determined that the Seadoo Speedster had been in use recently and a search of the area for the missing operator was commenced by the OPP Marine Unit, a Coast Guard helicopter, a Hercules aircraft and two Coast Guard vessels.

The search continued throughout the daylight hours but was unsuccessful in locating the operator of the Seadoo.
