Fund Background

In the past year, the Innisfil Grant Review Committee has granted nearly $160,000 to 23 community groups for a range of great projects including cultural events, local sports team initiatives, the efforts of non-profit organizations and more. Over $402,000 has been distributed into the community over the past 4 years with 49 successful applications since 2012.

The Inspiring Innisfil Fund provides grants to eligible community organizations and individuals whose projects or initiatives align with the three pillars of the Town’s Community Strategic Plan Inspiring Innisfil 2020—Community: To dramatically improve the quality of life of Innisfil residents; Tourism, Arts, Culture & Heritage: Showcase Innisfil’s diversity and appeal; or, Economy: Make sure local businesses excel in Innisfil.

The grants are funded through proceeds from the Spirit of the Community Dinner & Auction, the Mayor’s Golf Tournament and a portion of the revenues from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) facility at Georgian Downs. Applications are reviewed by the Innisfil Community Grant Review Committee, which is comprised of volunteer community members.
