Innisfil YMCA celebrates 11th anniversary... with pancakes! (6 photos)

It has been 11 years since the Innisfil Recreational Complex and the YMCA opened their doors

It’s been 11 years since the Innisfil Recreational Complex first opened its doors in partnership with the YMCA.

The complex is located at Yonge Street and Innisfil Beach Road on the Innisfil campus land which also house the Innisfil Town Hall, South Simcoe Police North Division, and the new Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre.

Constructed using community donations, debentures, and contributions from the OLG Slots at Georgian Downs, the complex provides the community with state-of-the-art ice rinks, a swimming pool, fitness centre and a gymnasium.

Through the partnership, the Town of Innisfil operates the “cold side” of the building – the rinks – while the YMCA operates the “warm side,” including the pool, gym, and fitness centre, and provides related programming for members and the community.

On Saturday, the YMCA celebrated its 11th anniversary with a free pancake breakfast and activities that included children’s crafts, a jumping castle and games.

Later in the day, the Town of Innisfil invited residents to enjoy free skating on the red rink – and families came out to enjoy the festivities, and their recreation complex.
