Joan Ackehurst of Innisfil is celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler (Game #2297).
Joan says she has been playing the lottery since 2002 and this is her first big win.
“Instant games are my favorite,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.
The retiree says as she was playing her ticket, she thought she won $1,000.
“I double checked and thought, ‘Oh, this might be $100,000,’” Joan said. “I told my husband and daughter, and they were so shocked.”
Joan plans to help her daughter out, take a vacation in her trailer and save for her future.
“It’s an emotional experience,” she concluded.
Instant Crossword Tripler is available for $5 a play and the top prize is $100,000. Odds of winning any prize are one in 3.81.
