Innisfil man facing assault, weapons charges

(Innisfil, ON) A 45-year-old Innisfil man is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Weapons Prohibition violations after police were called to a disturbance in Innisfil.

On Sunday, August 12, 2018 just before midnight, police responded to a home in the Innisfil Beach Rd. and St. John's Rd. area.

When officers arrived, a man was being treated on scene by paramedics. Information was learned that the man's girlfriend was at hospital receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained by an assault.

The man was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and six counts of Weapon Possession Contrary to a Prohibition Order.

The accused and the girlfriend were both treated and released from hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
