TOWNSHIP OF SPRINGWATER – The Feb. 21, 2018 Springwater Council Meeting has been rescheduled to begin at 5 p.m. to allow for a Public Information Session regarding the Province of Ontario’s proposed study area for the expansion of the greenbelt. The Information Session will commence at 7 p.m.

The information session has been scheduled to provide Council and residents with staff's comments on the proposed study area for the expansion of the greenbelt. The information session was included as part of the Feb. 21, 2018 meeting to ensure that Township comments would be finalized by the Mar. 7, 2018 commenting period deadline.

On Dec. 7, 2017, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs announced a 90-day consultation period seeking input on a potential expansion of the Greenbelt to additional locations within the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

The proposed study area includes a significant portion of the Township of Springwater. As a result Springwater staff will be providing feedback to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs.

During the information session on Feb. 21, 2018, staff will present their comments to Council. Following staff’s presentation and Council’s feedback, residents will be provided with an opportunity to provide their comments to Council.

Residents are reminded that any comments or questions they have regarding the proposed study area should be submitted directly to the Province by the Mar. 7, 2018 deadline.

Additional information on the proposed study area for the expansion of the greenbelt, including mapping, can be found online
