NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF BARRIE
**************************
The City of Barrie invites residents to the Envision Barrie Interactive Screening tomorrow (Wednesday, May 15), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sandbox Centre (24 Maple Ave, 2nd Floor). The event is aimed at gathering public insight to help shape the look of Barrie over the next 20 years.

Using a mix of interactive discussions and informative videos, City staff will look for public feedback on different themes and explore ideas to solve the challenges of planning for a growing city. Input collected during this event will be used to help develop land-use policy options around community priorities. The feedback will be presented to Council at a later date.

“This public consultation event allows residents to voice their opinion and share ideas on what the City needs to be a complete community,” says Kathy Suggitt, Manager of Planning. “We will show video clips and facilitate conversations around key themes, such as density, employment, mobility, and housing.”

During the videos and discussions, participants can use their smartphones to answer questions and give feedback while viewing responses all in real-time. These live visualizations create a fun and interactive experience for the audience. Note: There will be other options for providing feedback if participants do not have a smartphone.
