Here's what's open, closed Thanksgiving Monday

A number of services are affected in the City of Barrie on statutory holidays. The following City services will be affected on Thanksgiving Day (Monday, Oct. 11, 2021):

Barrie Transit
There will be no Barrie Transit service on Oct. 11.

Curbside Collection
There will be no garbage, organics, recycling and yard waste collection on Monday, Oct. 11 in Barrie. Collection during the week of this holiday will occur one day later for the remainder of the week. Materials must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Barrie’s landfill is closed every Sunday and Monday. Visit barrie.ca/CurbsideCollection for further details.

City Hall
Barrie City Hall will be closed on Oct. 11.

Recreation & Community Centres
Allandale Recreation Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre and Holly Community Centre will be closed on Oct. 11. To book a future time at the centres to swim, work out, take part in a fitness class, or to register for select programs, visit play.barrie.ca.

Parking
Downtown parking (on-street and lots) is free on all statutory holidays. Barrie residents require a Resident Parking Pass in order to park for free at specific waterfront areas. Non-residents are charged $10/hour with a daily max of $50; waterfront paid parking is enforced 24/7/365. For more information, visit barrie.ca/parking.
