KIRKLAND LAKE – Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two men with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking in a controlled substance.

The charges stem from a commercial motor vehicle stop on Highway 11, Eby Township.

The subsequent investigation led to the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis marihuana and the execution of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:54 a.m. on July 14, 2015.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the OPP Canine Unit.

Charged are Marius PREDA age 46 of Barrie, Ontario and Lucian TOC age 42 of  Okotoks, Alberta.

The two men accused were remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
