Graduation rates follow positive trend

SIMCOE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

​Yesterday the Ontario Ministry of Education announced the four- and five-year graduation rates for school boards across the province. For the 2015-16 school year, the Simcoe County District School Board’s (SCDSB) five-year rate was 82.6 per cent and the four-year rate was 76.5 per cent.  

“Student achievement is a priority for the SCDSB, and graduation rates are a significant indicator of success,” says Steve Blake, Director of Education. “We are proud of the consistent increase in our five-year rate, and we continue to work towards improving outcomes for all of our students.”  

Graduation rates in the SCDSB have followed a positive trend, with four-year rates increasing from 68 per cent in 2010-11 to 76.5 per cent in 2015-16, and five-year rates moving from 77 per cent in 2010-11 to 82.6 per cent in the same time period.
