The Dec. 5 deadline has passed for college students to withdraw from their courses and receive a refund following a five-week strike by faculty.

Today, Georgian College will release the numbers of students who took advantage of the option to drop out without penalties.

Faculty at Ontario's 24 community colleges walked off the job on Oct. 16.

The strike ended Nov. 19 when the province passed back to work legislation.

About 500,000 students were affected by the walkout and are now making up for lost class time with an extended semester and revised courses.
