Today, Georgian College and International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC), one of the most awarded language schools in the world, announced they have entered into partnership – the first of its kind for Georgian.

In December 2019, the Ontario government created a new policy, giving public colleges like Georgian, more flexibility to create innovative and entrepreneurial partnerships with private colleges to provide primarily international students with the high-quality education and training that prepares them for Ontario's workforce.

“Georgian is excited to enter into this new partnership with an esteemed private college and for the first time, expand our presence and quality programs into Toronto,” said Dr. MaryLynn West-Moynes, Georgian’s President and CEO.

“This new partnership will also allow Georgian to invest in our existing seven campuses across central Ontario, with partnership revenue supporting enhancements designed to meet the needs of all our students and local communities,” added West-Moynes.

Georgian@ILAC, as it will be known, will launch with three programs at ILAC’s boutique-style campus located in downtown Toronto. Beginning as early as Jan. 2021, the initial program offerings will be a Business Diploma program, Global Business Management Graduate Certificate and Project Management Graduate Certificate.

This partnership combines Georgian’s experience and excellent reputation in post-secondary education, with ILAC’s solid reputation as a leading language school with an exciting downtown Toronto location. Working together, Georgian and ILAC will leverage their combined international student recruitment expertise to attract a diversified student population from countries around the world.

”We are delighted to enter into a Public College Private Partnership with Georgian College. Students of Georgian@ILAC will benefit from Georgian’s quality curriculum, while studying in downtown Toronto and enjoying ILAC’s renowned international student culture focused on diversity,” said Jonathan Kolber, ILAC’s CEO.

“This is also a natural extension opportunity for students in our English language and Pathways programs, who can now stay in the ILAC family as they continue to progress in their studies,” added Kolber.
