Road closure in Bradford

BRADFORD - A dump truck hit some overhead wires in Bradford on Monday, closing the 6th Line for nine hours.

Just after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2016, a dump truck leaving a construction site on 6th Line near 10 Sideroad, struck and pulled down some overhead wires.

The box of the truck, which was up as the driver struck the wires, pulled the wires down across the road, effectively knocking out power to the area and completely blocking the street.

South Simcoe Police, along with Bradford Fire and Rescue, responded immediately.

Hydro crews attended and repaired the power lines, reopening the road just after 1:30 a.m.

No one was injured.

Highway Traffic Act charges are pending against the driver.
