Drive-by bake sale at the Barrington to benefit Barrie Food Bank

COVID-friendly event set for Saturday at Yonge Street retirement residence

Livita Barrington Retirement Residence in the city's south end is teaming up with Chris’ No Frills and J’Adore for “a taste of home” drive-by bake this weekend, with all proceeds supporting the Barrie Food Bank.

The COVID-friendly bake sale and raffle event will take place on Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Their goal is to start the spring season with an event that residents, friends, families and neighbours can participate in while giving back to the Barrie Food Bank.

The Barrington's sister home, Livita Queens Avenue in Burlington, ran a similar event in December and it resulted in a great success, so they want to bring that experience to Barrie.

The local event will include:

* Freshly baked goods for $2, $5 and $10
* A chance to purchase purchase raffle tickets to win a J'Adore gift basket or Co-Operators barbecue cooler pack
* The raffle draw will take place Thursday, April 1

Masks are required and it's a cash-only event. Organizers ask people to stop by, stay parked and one of their attendants will serve you. Honk for service with a smile!

The Livita Barrington Retirement Residence is located at 450 Yonge St., between D'Ambrosio Drive and Little Avenue.
