A COVID-19 outbreak that had been in place for more than three weeks on the Barrie's hospital transitional care unit is now over.
During the outbreak, which was declared on Jan. 27, 18 patients and two staff members were affected at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH).
In collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, RVH officials announced Tuesday afternoon that the outbreak has ended.
The unit is now open to admissions and visitors.
