They have dreams further studies, high paying jobs and world travel.
As the Class of 2016 paraded across the stage to collect their diplomas Tuesday night, they were also making history. This was the very last graduating class of Barrie Central Collegiate.
After 173 years, the high school will close its doors for the last time today.
"High school can be a very difficult time, but Central helped us learn to live, to love, to fall down and get back up again" said Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman, addressing the graduating class. "Those values will be what all of us carry forward in perpetuity. We will all be Centralites for the rest of our lives.
"Long live Barrie Central Collegiate. You brought out the best in us."
