A 45-year-old soldier stationed at Canadian Forces Base Borden was killed in two-vehicle crash in Angus Friday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m., at the 5th Line of Essa and Centre Street.

According to Nottawasaga OPP, a westbound pick-up truck drove through a stop sign at the intersection and struck an SUV, sending it into a ditch.

Master Corp. David Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pick-up truck was treated at a local hospital and released.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
