Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited, is proud to announce that two of its leaders from Casino Rama Resort have been honoured with awards at the tenth annual First Nation Canadian Gaming Awards held this week during the 2019 Canadian Gaming Summit in Edmonton, Alberta.
Lise Kwekkeboom, Director, Marketing Services was awarded the Gaming Leadership Award for her exceptional leadership and demonstrated success in developing and leading her team in meeting operational goals throughout the organization.
Kwekkeboom has been a member of the Casino Rama Resort team for 15 years. Since joining, she has played a pivotal role in the operation's successful marketing and entertainment initiatives.
Kwekkeboom is described as a natural leader, who consistently communicates efficiently and effectively to her peers and staff to ensure projects are completed on-time, on budget and are exceeding operational goals.
Always a champion for Casino Rama Resort, Kwekkeboom exemplifies her team work approach in everything she does. She is committed to building relationships with both customers and staff and has played an important role in leveraging Casino Rama Resort’s talent to support global initiatives since the operations joined the Gateway family of casinos in 2018.
Robert Commanda, Lead Gaming Technician was awarded with the Gaming Employee of the Year Award for his outstanding service and teamwork to the gaming industry.
Commanda has worked at Casino Rama Resort for more than 18 years. He is a technician that knows all there is to know about slot machines. He is a firm believer in “when you know how and understand why, you can repair anything.”
And he does. He takes great pride in his work and communicates well with his team to ensure the entire gaming floor is running smoothly, efficiently and with minimal disruption to the guests.
Commanda is an innovator that takes it upon himself to develop new systems and programs to boost productivity and meet the needs and demands of a growing industry.
