The Canadian Animal Blood Bank will be hosting their second canine blood donor event at Barrie Animal Hospital on October 27.

It's in you to give  and it's also in Fido to give.

The Canadian Animal Blood Bank will be hosting their second canine blood donor event at Barrie Animal Hospital on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donor dogs need to be between the ages of one and eight, weigh over 55 pounds and be up-to-date on their vaccinations. They also need to have a docile temperament and be deemed to be in good health by their veterinarian.

The simple collection process takes between eight and 10 minutes and can make the difference between life and death for dogs in Canada, plus both owner and pet will get a treat for a job well done afterwards!

The Canadian Animal Blood Bank is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving veterinary care by providing blood products for animals that require transfusion therapy as part of their treatment.

Canine blood is needed specifically for cancer therapy support, rat poison toxicity, parvovirus infections, surgeries, and immune-mediated diseases.
