Burglar stole ring meant to be Christmas gift

Also tracked muddy footprints through the home and left fingerprints

On Tuesday, December 22, 2015 police were called to a residence on Berczy Street in the city of Barrie, for a break and enter that had occurred between 10:20 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. that day. 

The person entered through the back door of the house leaving a trail of muddy footprints in their wake.

The Barrie Police Identification Unit attended to collect the footprint and fingerprints evidence left behind by the burglar.

Stolen from the residence was a custom 14 karat yellow gold ring with diamonds that was supposed to be a special Christmas gift for the homeowner.

Police canvassed the neighbourhood for any information from residents who may have seen anything suspicious during the day.
