This morning, (BSOM) Member of Parliament Alex Nuttall announced that he will remain as an M.P. and not seek the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario nomination for the same riding.

Brassard congratulated Nuttall on making this decision. “Alex is a hard working M.P. and is a valuable asset on Team Scheer. He places the interests of his constituents and the Conservative team ahead of his own and I am glad he will stay on to make sure that Andrew Scheer becomes the Prime Minister of Canada in 2019,” Brassard said.

MP Brassard went on to say: “Alex and I have spent a lot of time together politically, having been elected in 2006 as City Councillors and as Members of Parliament in 2015. He is intensely loyal and does terrific work as Shadow Minister for Youth, Sport and Persons with Disabilities on Team Scheer. The work he is doing to engage young Canadians, active Canadians and persons with disabilities has been invaluable and we are fortunate to see that his work will continue. I also want to thank his family for supporting Alex in his decision. I know first-hand the commitment it takes and the effect of being an M.P. has on a family. We could not do it without a love and support of our families.”

Brassard looks forward to continue working closely with M.P Nuttall as the Member of Parliament representing south Barrie and Innisfil.

MP Brassard summed up his comments saying, “BSOM needs M.P. Alex Nuttall as its Member of Parliament.”
