The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to provide residents with a further update regarding the status of Mayor Alar Soever.

With the assistance of his family, Mayor Soever is now resting and recovering at home from successful bypass surgery.

“I am progressing well, but limiting my activities in order to focus on my recovery. I appreciate the well wishes received to date; however I am limiting visitors to family for now,” stated Mayor Soever. “I am very pleased with how well council has worked together with staff and moved things forward in my absence. I have notified the town clerk of my request for a three-month leave to fully recover, but expect that time may be shortened. I look forward to resuming my duties as mayor.”

Pending his return, and only in the event of Deputy Mayor Rob Potter’s absence, Mayor Soever has designated Councillor Peter Bordignon as the acting head of council.
