Best Pictures 2017: New clock, new docks, new waterfront

June brought some nice additions to the city

The opening of new docks at the base of Bayfield Street and the installation of a charming clock tower were some highlights of June in Barrie.

Local Rotary Clubs teamed up to install the clock for Canada's 150th birthday.

The four-sided, 18-foot tall post clock also features more than 1,000 personalized granite bricks that were sold to fund the $60,000 cost of the project.

The upgraded transient boat slips were ready just in time for the Barrie Boat Show.

And after several years of construction, residents are now able to enjoy a revamped waterfront that includes a new footbridge, separate bike path and extended boardwalk.
