The Barrie Baycats announced Saturday morning that their Intercounty Baseball League game this afternoon against the visiting Brantford Red Sox has been cancelled due to rainy weather.

A rescheduled date has not been set.

The Baycats (3-1) will travel to Hamilton to take on the Cardinals (2-1) on Sunday in a 2 p.m. start.

In IBL action from Friday night, the London Majors ended a mini two-game skid with a 10-4 win over the Guelph Royals at Labatt Park.

Ismael Pena went 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI for the Majors (2-4).

Byron Reichstein singled and scored twice and drove in a run, Mike Ambrose had two RBI, Kyle Gormandy drove in two with a pair of hits and also scored once, and Steve Froese singled three times and added a run.

Juliandry Higuera (1-1) struck out eight over seven innings for the win. He gave up three runs on five hits with a walk.

For Guelph (1-3), Sean Reilly drove in a pair of runs. Justin Interisano went 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Ethan Mohan drove in the other run. Matthew Pilarczyk singled and also scored twice.

Yunior Yambatis took the loss, giving up six runs (four earned) on five hits in 2.2 innings. He walked two and struck out three.
Only half of London's runs were earned thanks to six Guelph errors.
