Barrie Police search north end for missing senior (update, 4 photos)

'Vulnerable' woman prone to wandering

9:55 p.m. update:

Police Search and Rescue teams will continue searching throughout the night for missing senior Mandy Thompson.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them immediately.

2:10 p.m. update:

Police are asking residents in the Laidlaw, Livingstone Street area to check their backyards, sheds, etc. for a missing senior.

Officers continue to search for Mandy Thompson, 72, who's been missing since 7:30 a.m.

Uniform officers are scouring the city on foot and in cruisers, while the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle was up in the sky checking large areas including Sunnidale Park.

Barrie Police have two UAV cameras - one with zoom capability and the other infrared. Both are being employed in the search for the missing senior.

9:30 a.m. update:

Barrie Police released the following information:

Mandy Thompson, 72 years old, went missing from her Barrie residence on Laidlaw Drive just before 7:30 a.m.,this morning.

Police are concerned for her safety, and believe she is not dressed for the cold weather.

Anyone with information is asked to call Barrie Police immediately at 705-725-7025 ext. 2106 or 2107.

Barrie Police are searching the city's north end for a missing 72-year-old woman.

Her name is Mandy Thompson (Hunt) and she is described as 'vulnerable' and 'prone to wander,' according to the police twitter.

Mandy is white, 5'8", medium build with short, red hair.

She was wearing an ankle length black summer coat and white running shoes.
