The envelope has been unsealed and the nominations are official for the upcoming 15th annual Barrie Business Awards.

The nominees were announced at the Barrie Chamber of Commerce offices on Commerce Park Drive in south-end Barrie on Wednesday morning to a crowd of local business folk.

The awards will be handed out Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Barrie Country Club.

But for now, the nominees are…

Manufacturing Sector Business Excellence Award: All Source Security Container Mfg., CSR Cosmetic Solutions, Moore Packaging.

Service Business Excellence Award: Bulldog Kids, Innspace Business Centres, Thee Place for Paws.

Hospitality & Tourism Business Excellence Award: Alt. Rock, Grilled Cheese Social Eatery, Splash On Water Park.

Not-for-Profit or Charitable Organization Award: Child Advocacy Centre Simcoe/Muskoka, Seasons Centre for Grieving Children, Women and Children’s Centre Barrie.

New Business Award: Cheetah Fusion Creative Agency, Plan A Simcoe Health Care Staffing Solutions, Poly-B Plumbing.

Business Growth Award: DriveWise, Gerrits Engineering, MediPharm Labs.

Marketing and Promotions Award: Pie Media Group, Push Promotional Products & Design, Shakir Media.

Pay It Forward Award: Botree, Evoke Realty Group, Ripe Juicery.

Innovation & Technology Award: DECAST, Madison Taylor Design, Tandempark.

Small Business of the Year Award: Pop-A-Lock Simcoe County, The Royal Headquarters, Treetops Playground & Kids Salon.

Employer of the Year Award: Barriston Law LLP, Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery, Innovative Automation.

Individual awards were also announced on Wednesday.

Young Professional of the Year: Iain Moggach, Theatre by the Bay; Daniel Steffens, StepUp; Kara Thomson, Bulldogs Kids.

Employee of the Year: Betsy Deane, Speed Pro; Iain Moggach, Theatre by the Bay; Kara Thomson, Bulldog Kids.

Arch Brown Entrepreneur Award of Excellence: Dawn Mucci, LiceSquad.com; Angie Ricci, Angel Tours and Entertainment; Liam Squires, Tandempark.

The Barrie Business Awards were created in 2003 in a partnership between the City of Barrie and the Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce.
