Afternoon stabbing victim in serious condition; suspect not in custody

Police disclosing much information, yet, as investigation continues

An afternoon stabbing yesterday at the Barrie bus terminal has left one person in serious condition.

Barrie police received a call Saturday at 12:34 p.m. about a man suffering from stab wounds at the Maple Avenue terminal.

The victim was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday that, at this current time, police cannot say much regarding the incident.

“We have our criminal investigation team on this right now and due to the nature of the situation, we can’t say much right now,” said Leon. “From what I understand, there has not been an arrest in the incident as of yet.”

BarrieToday will have more information when it becomes available.
