9,418 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday

Ontario's reporting 9,418 new COVID-19 cases today (Dec. 27).

Because of the Christmas holidays, the full numbers including recoveries and deaths are not being updated until Wednesday, Dec. 29.

There are 480 people in hospital with COVID-19 and 176 people are in ICU, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott.

The seven-day rolling average of COVID-related patients in ICU is 168.

On Boxing Day, Elliott says over 45,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered. So far, 90.7 per cent of Ontarians 12 years and older have at least one dose of the vaccine and 88 per cent have two doses.
