It took 16 runs and 20 hits, but the Barrie Baycats outlasted the Brantford Red Sox Thursday night at Coates Stadium.

Every Barrie player had at least one hit as the Baycats beat the Red Sox 16-14 and swept a home-and-home that started the previous night in Brantford.

Glenn Jackson went 3-for-4 and finished a double short of the cycle. Jackson drove in four and scored three times. Jordan Castaldo went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs.

Ryan Spataro scored three times, Kyle DeGrace went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI, Kevin Atkinson had four hits, an RBI and a run, Tim Smith singled twice and drove in three, Carson Burns had a pair of hits and a run, and Branfy Infante went 2-for-5 with four runs and two stolen bases.

Emilis Guerrero (8-2) benefitted from the offence, picking up the win despite allowing eight runs on 10 hits with two walks and six strikeouts over six innings. 
Chris Nagorski allowed one run on two hits with a strikeout over the last 1.1 innings for his fifth save.

The win was Barrie's eighth straight and the team improved to 22-8 overall.

Brantford dropped its fourth straight after building a 7-0 lead after the top of the second.

Nic Burdett went 4-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and three runs.

Wilson Soriano and Nicholas Burnell each scored once, David Mendham had three hits, two RBI and two runs, DeAndre Asbury-Heath singled and scored three times, Andris Rizquez singled, doubled and had two RBI, two runs and a stolen base, Anthony Rizquez drove in a pair and scored once, Blake Kauer had two hits, two RBI and a run, and Sebastian Lech had an RBI.

Michael Bucci (0-1) took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits over 2.1 innings of relief. He walked one and struck out one.

Matt Martinow started and went 2.2 innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits with a walk.
