Inspired by Canada Reads, seven Simcoe County libraries are bringing their communities together with the fourth annual Simcoe Reads, a cover-to-cover reading program and competition for adults.

It will include community members from all over Simcoe County, as well as staff and patrons of Barrie Public Library, Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library, Essa Public Library, Innisfil IdeaLab & Library, Midland Public Library, New Tecumseth Public Library and Ramara Public Library.

Each library has selected a local 'champion' and book they believe everyone in Simcoe County should read. The seven champions will gather to debate their book selections in front of a live audience.

Following the debate, the winner will be determined by audience vote. Refreshments are being provided by Starbucks in Angus.

More information is available at www.SimcoeReads.ca.

The event will take place Thursday, Oct. 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Angus Recreation Centre, located at 8529 County Rd. 10. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Free parking is available. Additional parking is also available across the street on Cambrai Road, southwest of the traffic lights of Cambrai/Mill Street and County Road 10.
